Practically every synthetic or natural quartz crystal other than the best optical grade has some fluid filled inclusions, in it and most natural white quartz contains on the order of (10)9 such inclusions, averaging about 2 microns in diameter, in every cc.nA technique has been developed for the extraction and limited wet chemical and spectrographic analysis of the salts in solution in the fluids of these inclusions.
