Studies on the Systematics and Ecology of Laelaptid Rodent Ectoparasites in Egypt, with Observation on the Epidemiology of Haematogoan Jaculi Bolfour

摘要

1.Study was initiated to determine the abundance and distribution of parasitic mites of rodents (G. gerbillus and G. pyramidum) inhabiting desert and semdesert areas near Cairo, and to determine their interrelations with various environmental factors.n2.Data were collected and summarized on physical characteristics (temp. RH) of the environment and microclimate of the rodent burrows during the first part of this study(September 17-October 17, 1956).n3.The microclimate of the burrow is vastly different and relatively more stable than that of the climate of the surface, and is not immediately affected by the great daily changes of the external environment in these areas.
