Work summarized in this report was directed toward obtaining a superior substitute for the standard type insulator used with supports of open wire lines in straight runs.nA new type insulator for use with supports of open wire lines in straight runs has been developed by USASSL and is recommended for field tests. See Figs. 9, 10, and 11.
