摘要

A review of the pertinent literature on oxygen toxicity reveals that although many investigators (1), (2), (4), (6), (9) have concluded that oxygen can be inhaled in concentrations up to 60% at 760㎜ Hg pressure for indefinite periods of time, these conclusions are based on the results of either animal studies or human studies of rather short duration. Richards and Baruch (10) investigated the effect of a 7 day residence la 45% oxygen at one atmosphere on two normal men and found that there were no indications of any pulmonary irritation;however, no other investi¬gations have been reported using oxygen percentages between 45% and 69% at one atmosphere pressure.
