摘要

Ceramic coated metal composites were studied in regard to their behavior under mechanically and thermally induced stresses.nCoating metal interfacial structure considerations indicate a saturation of the glassy phase by oxides of the base metal accompanied by the presence of residual strain gradients essentially within the interfacial zone.nThe maximum induced strain (thermal or mechanical) which cobalt bearing ceramic coatings could withstand without fracture was found to be a function of residual stress.
