DYNAMIC RESPONSE OF A CLAY SOIL TO AN OSCILLATING SUBSOILER

By instrumenting the linkage of an oscillating subsoiler, soil forces were determined as a function of tool position. A harmonic analysis of some of these forces was completed, providing some basis for qualitative deduc¬tions characterizing the mode of soil failure for the type of tool and vibration used.
