Preliminary Trials on the Hot Extrusion of Some Low-Carbon, Low-Alloy Steels

Preliminary trials have shown that advantageous mechanical properties may be achieved in low-carbon, niobium or vanadium-containing steels after hot extrusion (950C), water quenching, and subsequently tempering in the temperature range 600C-675C.
