Mycoplasma pneumoniae Vaccine Production and Process Development.

The work herein reported involves the process development and production of an experimental M. pneumoniae (CL-8) vaccine. Five separate lots of vaccine have been produced during the contract period,representing 9,420ml. of vaccine material produce. Three major problems were encountered in the production efforts which led to an unsuccessful completion of the contract: The production and quality control testing of bovine serum fraction (BSF);Bacterial contamination (identified as Vibrio percolans);Bacterial contamination during packaging process.
