On Some Numerical Methods in Continuum Mechanics,

摘要

The numerical solution of some initial-value problems in continuum mechanics is considered. Namely,continuum problems with differential equations of symmetric-hyperbolic-type,which include wave propagation in linear elastic solids,beams and fluids,are studied using a mixed velocity-stress formulation. Lax-Vendroff solution schemes are employed to obtain numerical solutions to linear elastic problems. Implicit methods based on semi-group theory are also formulated and numerical results are presented for some two-dimensional elasticity problems. (Author)
