The Fiscal Year (FY) 2013 budget request reflects the resources needed for the U.S. Census Bureau to support the Department of Commerces Science and Information general goal 14, Enable informed decision-making through an expanded understanding of the U.S. economy, society, and environment by providing timely, relevant, trusted, and accurate data, standards, and services. The Census Bureaus mission is to serve as the leading source of quality data about the Nations people and economy. The Census Bureaus performance goals are to provide timely, relevant, and accurate current and benchmark measures of the U.S. population, economy, and governments in order to facilitate this mission.
