A Prospectus for Change in the Intercity Bus Industry: State Intercity Bus Plan

The report is a preliminary edition of the State Intercity Bus Plan. It proposes a Statewide system of interconnected bus routes called the Basic State Intercity Bus Network, linking together 154 principal locations. These principal locations are urbanized areas, rural cities with 5,000 or more inhabitants, county seats of government and the largest city in each of the 58 counties. The regulatory process is examined and proposals for deregulation of the intercity bus industry are evaluated.
