Augmenting In-Use Fuel Economy Data Bases with Topographic, Demographic and Climatic Data

The EPA asked Technology Service Corporation (TSC) to augment several in-use fuel economy data files with information on the climatic, topographic, and demographic conditions under which the in-use data were collected. This report describes the type of variables and data sources added to the in-use data, the method for augmenting specific in-use data files, and how the appended data were analyzed to determine vehicle exposure regions. In-depth information about the in-use fuel economy data is not provided in this report.
