A Comparative Survey of U.S. and Foreign Criteria for Accrediting Testing Laboratories

This study reports on a survey of criteria documents used by 24 laboratory accreditation systems. Nine Federal systems, eight private association systems, and six foreign systems were studied. The purpose of this report is to provide a framework for comparison of the criteria provisions and to provide a basis for further study in developing ways of harmonizing accreditation criteria both nationally and internationally.
