Models and Methods for Studying Experimental Emotional Stress

Biobehavioral aspects of health and disease are receiving increased attention in biomedical research. Interdisciplinary research on the interactions between physiological and behavioral processes is being pursued through basic, clinical, and epidemiological studies. These studies have shown that behavioral processes influence metabolic processes. This book presents a spectrum of models and methods used in the USSR for studying experimental emotional stress. U.S. and USSR for studying experimental emotional stress. U.S. and USSR biobehavioral scientists cooperating under the US-USSR agreement in the cardiovascular area are currently engaged in joint research on biobehavioral aspects of cardiovascular disease, specifically in hypertension.
