Evaluation of Technology Assessments and Developments of Evaluation Protocols: Summary Reports of the TA's

A group of technology assessments (TA's) were studied to determine whether there were any consistent patterns in the analysis, policy option identification, or other elements which could provide useful guidance to the National Science Foundation (NSF) program staff in the efficient management of TA's. This report consists of synopses of six TA's to provide a method of structuring previously performed TA's in a way that presents the important assumptions, information, and policy recommendations in a concise, easily retrievable format. Each synopsis is divided into the following sections: introduction; scope; description; assessment; and policy considerations. They include TA's of (1) Impact of Robotics; (2) Large Cargo Aircraft; (3) Human Rehabilitation Techniques; (4) Remote Sensing; (5) Guayule Rubber Commercialization; and (5) CAMIS (Computer Assisted Makeup and Imaging Systems).
