Community Development Strategies Evaluation: Offsite Effects (Revised)

摘要

The paper presents findings of the study concerning the relations between the behavior and attitudes of individuals on the one hand, and various characteristics of and events in their residential environments on the other, which may be helpful to community development officials in determining the spatial targeting of the programs. The study focuses on residential mobility, repair and rehabilitation of housing, and neighborhood satisfaction, as well as housing rehabilitation assistance, publicly subsidized rental units, street repair, land reuse, parks and other recreation facilities, daycare and senior citizens' centers; and characteristics of the area in which the respondents reside, demographic composition, housing values, activity in the housing market, perceived convenience and problems in the neighborhood, land use in surrounding blocks, and condition of the street and houses of the block.
