Pakistan: Irrigation Water Charges and Recurrent Cost Recovery

摘要

The objective of the paper is to examine the existing level and structure of water charges in Pakistan within the context of issues related to recovery of recurrent costs. This is necessary because the question of raising water charges to make them compatible with relevant economic parameters needs urgent answers in view of the consistently increasing revenue - expenditure gap of the irrigation system and huge rehabilitation investments now occuring.
