摘要

Tight sandstones typically contain a pore geometry which consists of either grain-supported primary porosity plugged up to a greater or lesser degree by authigenic minerals in the pore throats, or a highly altered pore system composed of secondary solution pores interconnected by narrow, linear slot pores between quartz overgrowths. Gas movement through these types of restrictive pore structure is quite sensitive to such factors as increased net confining stress or higher partial water saturations. Investigation of the tight Travis Peak Sandstone of eastern Texas revealed that this formation has many of the pore and fluid-flow properties common to tight gas sands of the Rocky Mountains.
