Minute Man National Historical Park Acoustical Monitoring 2008-2009.

In 2006, the Natural Sounds and Night Skies Division (NSNSD) received a technical assistance request to collect baseline acoustical data at Minute Man National Historical Park (MIMA). During the winter (December 2008 February 2009) and summer (July - September 2009) two sites were deployed per season for approximately 30 days each. The baseline data collected during this period will help park managers and planners estimate the effects of future noise impacts and will help to inform future park planning objectives such as creating soundscape management plans. The sound sources of great concern at MIMA include the ongoing development and expansion of an adjacent civilian airport.
