Cooper's Hawk and Long-Eared Owl Nest Occupancy and Productivity in Piceance Basin, Colorado.

摘要

The purpose of this publication is to convey research findings to the Bureau of Land Management and other federal and state agencies to expand the current understanding of Coopers hawk (Accipiter cooperii) and long-eared owl (Asio otus) nesting density, nest occupancy, and productivity information in areas affected by oil and gas development. The Piceance Basin in northwestern Colorado was chosen as the study area because it has a high density of nesting Coopers hawk and oil and gas exploration, extraction, and production activities.
