Field Implementation Plan for Inert Base Gas Use in Underground Storage Fields inthe United States. Final Report, September 1986-April 1989

A four-step systematic approach was developed for use by storage field operatorsto plan and implement inert base gas projects in the U.S. These steps are site selection, data collection and analysis, engineering analysis, and field implementation plan. An example illustrates the use of the approach. Appendixes include an evaluation of potential field test sites and a discussion of regulatory issues relating to the use of inert gas in underground storage.
