Social Care and Local Networks: A Study of a Model for Public Social Services Applied in a New Suburban Area.

摘要

A new way of integrating municipal caring services for children and the elderly with the social life of the neighborhood is being tried out on the Lambohov housing estate in Linkoping. Common activity Centers and day nurseries for the children are closely spaced in the area and are used by all residents for their leisure activities. Service blocks and pensioners' flats are located close to other homes. The physical environment has been planned and designed with everyday neighbor contacts especially in mind. The 'Linkoping Model' also includes an experimental scheme of neighborly responsibility for supporting families with problems. The book describes the experiences accruing from this comprehensive attempt at creating social networks in the neighborhood environment. Viewpoints from municipal caring service staff and residents are presented.
