The report describes the way in which colour television signals are transcoded as part of the standards conversion process. The impairments of colour performance brought about by the standards conversion process are also described, together with methods used to minimise their effects.nTranscoding is not used when the equipment is working as a field-store synchroniser and the report describes the other colour circuits which are used in this role.
