Elastic Tensile Stresses in Bow Shackles of Circular Section

Tensile stresses of shackles have been computed on the assumption that the deformation is elastic, that the strain energy due to bending is proportional to integral MZds and that the strain energy due to direct stress and shear is negligible. The results of the computations are presented in tabular form. (Author)
