摘要

Atmospheric influences on remote sensing are reviewed for wavelengths from the ultraviolet to the infrared region. The Earth's atmosphere is described and the important physical processes occurring within it are explained. These processes include, gaseous absorption and emission;particle scattering, absorption and emission;refraction and turbulence. The influences of these atmospheric processes on passive and active sensors mounted on various platforms are reviewed. Finally correction techniques, to restore atmospherically degraded data to an error-free form, are examined.
