Experimental studies of manufacturing processes performed in zero-g

Manufacturing in space conducted in support of the Skylab program and in anticipation of future programs is summarized. Methods used to obtain short periods of near-zero-g are illustrated, and the advantages and disadvantages of each are listed. Four experiments developed to investigate three manufacturing-in-space processes are illustrated, their operating sequence is described, and the results of each are presented.
