AN INVESTIGATION OF THE EXPERIENCE AND IMPLICATIONS OF USING NON HI-REL COMPO NENTS IN EUROPEAN SCIENTIFIC EXPERIMENTS

This latter area was expanded in a letter from G T Systems and detailed in the questionnaire sent subsequently to those institutes which expressed a willingness to participate in the study. Much of the required information was filled-in during visits to the experimenters and/or their subcontractors, at which time the data containing part populations, classifications, failures, etc, were collected for distillation and analysis.nA high degree of co-operation was shown by the large majority of experimenters in answering questions and supplying documents, drawings and other data. It is regrettable that it was not possible to obtain data on ESRO I experiments during the study - though it is emphasized that it was not lack of co-operation which brought about this situation, but combination of difficulty in locating complete data within the available time, and the fact that S7I was (subdivided Into five parte involving the same number of institutes and whilst two of these ex-pressed great interest and willingness to assist in the study, the remainder did not feel able to participate.
