This report describes accomplishments made by MDAC-E in the fabrication, acceptance testing and delivery of a heating array for testing full-scale sections of the leading edge and lower fuselage surfaces of the Shuttle. The work described herein was the culmination of design and development acclivities initiated under Contract NAS9-13091 (Phase I) and expanded under NASA-13544 (Phase Ia). The heating array was designed to provide NASA a tool for development and acceptance testing of; leading edge segments (up to 60 inches long and with variable edge radius as small as 3.4 inch) and large flat sections (4×8 feet) of the main body thermal protection system.
