A Basic Computer Program for the Evaluation of the Inviscid Velocity Distribution Along Bodies of Revolution in Axial Flow

摘要

A rapid method is developed for calculating the velocity distribution along the surface of arbitrary bodies of revolution in inviscid flow. The method is programmed in BASIC for local operation on the Tektronix 4051 computer or for more rapid operation on the CDC Cyber 174 computer. Comparison is made with the exact potential flow solution for an ellipsoid of revolution and with experimental wind tunnel results for an aircraft fuselage.
