摘要

The thermal vacuum qualification and accelerated life tests on a modified bearing and power transfer assembly (MOC BAPTA) are discussed. The modified BAPTA was operated at one revolution per hour for short periods under several thermal conditions. Two eclipse simulations were carried out with a rotational speed of one revolution per day. The accelerated life tests simulated approximately 10 years of real time operation in a geostationary satellite at two thermal conditions. During both tests, the motor operated satisfactorily with no evidence of irregularities in the stepping motion. During the qualification test, a small increase in electrical noise was observed for increasing slip ring current, and a significant reduction in this parameter occurred during the first thermal condition of the accelerated life test.
