Aerodynamic forces and moments acting on a cascade of unloaded flat plates vibrating in a supersonic flow are analyzed. The principal assumptions are that the axial velocity is subsonic, that the blades are sufficiently closely spaced so that a Mach wave cannot propagate upstream through the cascade, and that the frequency parameter and interblade phase angle are both small. The unique incidence condition is used. Bending vibration is always damped, but flutter in pure torsion is always predicted.
