Objective Forecasting of the Heights of Precipitation and of Relative Insolation by Means of Discriminatory Analysis

In order to quickly obtain quantitative information from the numerical weather prediction charts, a method based on the discriminatory analysis giving estimates for precipitations and sunshine was developed. This method uses forecasts values of the 500 mbar geopotential height at 16 points regularly distributed over Europe.
