Photocopiers: Do They Pose a Health Hazard

The current technologies used in photocopying machines are briefly described. Concerns that were raised about health and safety at each step of the copying process are discussed. Particular emphasis was placed on the chemical components of the copying technologies. Where appropriate, exposure controls are suggested. Recommendations are made with regard to the safety features of machines and the need to enhance the free flow of information from the manufacturers to the public.
