Improved Version of the Chamfer Matching Algorithm

摘要

An algorithm used to match edges in two different images for presentation of multisensor data, navigation, target detection, and precision rectification is described. Translation and rotation of the edges are possible. Results show that one of the versions is faster, allows a worse initial guess of the position than the standard one, and is not more difficult to implement. The method is relatively insensitive to noise, and gives acceptable final matching positions.
