Linear Autonomous Retarded Functional Differential Equations; a Sharp Version of Henry's Theorem

Retarded functional differential equations (RFDE) on reflexive state spaces are considered. Diekmann's method is used. Properties of Volterra convolution integral equation make it possible to extend the RFDE on nonreflexive state spaces to RFDE on larger reflexive state space. A sharp version of Henry's theorem is proved.
