Performance Evaluation of Explicit Shallow-Water Equations Solver on the Cyber 205

摘要

The performance of an explicit method and an ADI method for the shallow-water equations is compared on a Cyber 205. A technique which stabilizes the explicit method in such a way that any desired time step is possible without the development of instabilities is discussed. Comparing the codes for two test models, the explicit methods are attractive on the Cyber 205. Proposals for the handling of irregular geometries are made.
