Accelerations Experienced by Packaged Materiel during Fork Lift Truck Handling

The shock and vibration environment imposed upon material when subjected to handling by a fork lift truck was studied using a representative range of fork lift trucks on a number of different surfaces including stores areas, perimeter roadways, and test tracks. Shock and vibration were recorded with an instrumented package weighing nominally 900 kg. The results are presented graphically as bar charts of acceleration amplitude against occurrence rate, and as a spectra plot of acceleration against frequency for the test track runs.
