摘要

The electronic structure of intermediate-valence compounds was studied by Gd3+k electron spin resonance (ESR) measurements on CeOs2:Mn2(+) ESR measurements on CePd3. The contribution of the Ce-4f stake density to the Korringa relaxation of the Gd-4f electrons in CePd3 and CeOs2 is found to be negligible. An Mn-ESR spectrum with resolved Mn hyperfine structure is observed for the first time in a metal. It is shown that the Anderson model for intermediate-valence compounds and the deduced model for the state densities of conduction and 4 f electrons can be described by the observed nonlinear temperature dependencies of line widths. The intermediate-valence state of the Ce-ions prevents the occurrence of an ESR-bottleneck.
