Contribution to the Development of Smart Design Techniques for VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration) Integrated Circuits

Computer aided design techniques based on expert systems and artificial intelligence are presented. The theory of design automation is developed and algorithms are presented. The application of these ideas to the design of an n x m multiplier illustrates the potential of the method.
