Behavior of a Two-Layered Beam under Impact Loading

摘要

A dynamic model for multilayered beams under impulsive loading, based on Timoshenko beam theory, but which accommodates interlayer slip is proposed. Different impact loads and different interfacial situations are investigated. The transient behavior of a two-layered beam is determined by the characteristic method solution of the dynamic governing equations. The results are found to be in close agreement with the finite element analysis code ABAQUS.
