摘要

The forces acting on electrons and/or plasmas in strong electromagnetic fieldsare very important phenomena in laser produced plasmas and in similar interactions with intense microwaves. These forces are known as ponderomotive forces. We present here a derivation of these forces as a scattering process. While Thomson scattering or that of Bremsstrahlung is weak and mostly neglected for the balance of the strong nonlinear forces acting on the electrons, it turns out that the compensation of momentum can be explained as a momentum exchange
