Testbed for Flow Visualization Research

摘要

A testbed approach for research in computer graphics for flow visualization isdescribed. In visualization research, a good environment for development, testing, and integration of results is required. A research testbed is such an environment, as opposed to a visualization system that is to be used as a tool by prospective users. The requirements for a testbed for flow visualization research are outlined, and a logical pipeline model of the visualization process is used to describe a basic design of a flow visualization testbed. A partial implementation is described, and some issues concerning further development are discussed.
