Frequency Response of Structures Excited by Transient or Random Forces using Cross correlation and its Laplace Transform

The frequency response of a structure at one station with reference to its response at another station is investigated. The work is aimed at:n(a) The application of statistical concepts to the analysis of transient processes based on a modified definition of the correlation function.n(b) The use of the Laplace transform in obtaining the structural frequency response, a method which is shown to present distinct advantages over the Fourier one.
