NEUTRON ACTIVATION CROSS-SECTIONS WITH l4.8 MEV NEUTRONS IN THE REGION OF THE 82-NEUTRON CLOSED SHELL

摘要

Interpretation of nuclear reaction mechanisms was simplified greatly when Bohr (B6) pointed out in 1936 the utility of dividing nuclear reactions into two parts:(a) the formation of a compound system from the initial reactants and (b) the disintegration of the compound state into the products of the reaction. The two steps can be considered as independent reactions occurring consecutively.
