This paper describes the design of a facility which has been mounted in the RB-1 reactor to allow k-inf measurements of D2O lattices by PCTR technique. k-inf measurements on ORGEL lattices are complementary to the buckling measurements performed at the Euratom Ispra JNRC on exponential (EXPO) and critical (ECO) facilities.nPart I describes neutronic design criteria of the facility, with particular reference to the errors introduced in the measurements by neutronic flux non-flatness and spectrum mismatch in the test cell.nPart II illustrates the design of the facility according to the experimental requirements, with special regards to some characteristic components.
