摘要

At the burnout or dryout point in heat transfer to two-phase annular flow, a mass balance in an element terminating at the burnout point shows that the supply of liquid into this element consists of two parts: supply along the: surface in the form of a film and supply normal to the surface in the form of droplet mass transfer. The magnitude of the latter component has been determined for steam-water flow at 1000 p.s.i.a. in a 0.497 in bore tube by the use of dryout heat flux measurements.nBy arranging for simultaneous dryout at the end of a heated length of the tube with high heat flux and a further short length of tube with a lower heat flux, it has been possible to deduce the magnitude of the droplet deposition. Results have been obtained for droplet deposition rate as a function of quality and mass velocity.
