摘要

It is concluded from these studies that CN- impurities in KC1 show resonant, phonon scattering at discrete energies of 1.1 cm-1 and 2.0 cm-1 . By assuming that the CN- ion is in a Devonshire potential 41 which has minima for orientation of the ion in the <100> directions these resonant energies say be fit within the experimental error. The values of the parameters of the Devonshire potential which give a good fit to the resonant energies also give a good fit to the energy levels determined in other studies.
