Uranium is separated from plutonium and other impurities by solvent-extraction using tributyl phosphate/odourless kerosene (TBP/OK). The uranium in solvent is measured colourimetrically using the sensitive chromogenic reagent bromo-PADAP (2-(5-bromo-2-pyridylazo)-5-(diethylamino) phenol). (ERA citation 13:014178)
