Use of Relational and Conditional Event Algebra in Addressing Modeling andCombining of Information in Expert Systems

Conditional event algebras, and more generally, relational event algebras, havebeen developed to address the present gap existing between logic-based combination techniques involving probabilities-at present, relatively limited in use-and the current more widely applicable standard numerical-based combination techniques. This paper presents an overview of these newly emerging areas with some applications to expert systems. (AN).
