Ariel Distributed Programming Project: Secure Execution of Mobile Programs.

Initially, the primary goal of the project was to develop techniques for making systems safe from mobile programs. During the course of the project, several important results were achieved in security, resource scheduling, runtime system design, and distributed programming environments. These results include an access control specification language, novel tools and techniques for enforcing security policies, safe threads package, resource scheduling algorithms for protecting against denial of service attacks, dynamic Java virtual machine, dynamically configurable security policy systems, and an adaptive distributed programming environment.
